The
Chamorritas, Guam's most famous dance troupe, were brought together by Jimmy Dee
during the bicentennial celebration in July, 1976.
Chamorritas (young Chamorro maiden) now accompany Jimmy Dee wherever he travels
in the world, delighting audiences everywhere with their inventive dance
routines.
The Chamorritas combine island dances from Polynesian (Tahiti, Hawaii, Moari,
Samoa, etc.) and Micronesian cultures with modern routines from American disco,
jazz, rock & roll, Broadway, and even the Las Vegas shows.
The award-winning Chamorritas are recognized as official Good Will Ambassadors
of Guam, and are often called upon to greet distinguished visitors from around
the world.
Jimmy envisioned that the world would see the beauty, charm, and excitement of
Guam and the Pacific through the beautiful and exotic Chamorritas. Indeed, the
have traveled throughout Asia and the Pacific, and of course the U.S., always
leaving their audiences with fond memories and a smile!
The Chamorritas' motto is to make the best better; service to Humanity is the
best work; and entertain with class. For over twenty years, they have been doing
exactly that. "We do what we love, and we love what we do!"
